They are back! Those slow moving reptiles looking for a place to lays their eggs. Seems to happen more near the 1st days of summer but with that two and half weeks away, I may have a memory glitch. Lo and behold the big mama snapping turtle decided my asparagus bed was the optimum place to build a nest.

Beautiful Oriole in Ohio
Holy Cow! This hummingbird feeder is always the busiest spot in our garden. From sun up to sundown orioles, woodpeckers, and hummingbirds swing by for a sugary sip.

Wild Winter of 2026 is Over
Hip
Hip Hurray! I had to wait 3 years but alas the delicious spears of
asparagus are on the rise. Oddly, rising from the bed on Easter weekend.
Daffodils always arrive first!
These flowers smell better than honey.
My strawberry plant survived the harsh winter. Raised it up to keep the snails and slugs off.
Mr. Sunshine is coming our way!
Where dig the big tree go? Strong winds brought it down- maybe a fruit try in its place- any suggestions?
Yikes- strong wind took down our privacy fence. My work is never done...
Lettuce patch planted- a bit of Arrugala and Red Russian Kale also.
Battered from the hellacious winter, Frogboy stands guard for yet another summer.
Holy
Lysenkoism ! My Duborskian Upland rice arrived today- yes the Russian
enginneered variety will grow on terra firma sans rice paddy. Yippie-
now I just need a water buffalo...
